Oracle of Delphi Q&A

Hey Everyone!

Sorry for the delay in posting. With the book release just over a month away, I have been busy editing, editing, editing!! But things are coming along nicely.

I've been getting a lot of questions from people about the book, and since a lot of the questions are the same, I decided to answer them here! So here goes.

Q: What is the name of the book?
A: The Oracle of Delphi Series #1, Prophecy of the Most Beautiful. It will be released on March 1st.

Q: What made you choose Greek Mythology as the basis for your book?
A: I've always had this fascination with mythology, especially Greek mythology. There was never a doubt in my mind that my first novel would be based around it.

Q: How long did it take you to write it?
A: Two years in all. One year was dedicated completely to research and narrowing down a topic. I needed a unique focus and didn't want my main character to be a demigod. Rick Riordan set sail with that ship a long time ago. I wanted to be different and basing an entire series around the Oracle of Delphi seemed like the way to do it. For me, the possibilities were endless and I certainly let my imagination run wild with this one. The writing took another year, with editing taking several months in itself. I'm a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to writing and I refuse to release work that I'm not 100% proud of.

Q: What is the premise of the book?
A: There really is no good way for me to explain it without giving away more than I want to. So how about I just give you the summary insert that I'm releasing with the book?

She has a destiny so great that even the gods fear her.

Constant hallucinations and the frequent conversations with the voices in her head, have earned eighteen-year-old Chloe Clever the not-so-coveted title of "Whack Job" in her home town of Adel, Georgia. With the onslaught of prescription medications and therapists threatening to push her over the edge, she wishes for a life far away from the one she has, a life where she is destined to be more than the butt of everyone's jokes and mockery.

Be careful what you wish for has never rung more true.

After living through an attack from her worst nightmare, she awakens to find herself far from home, surrounded by glorious riches and servants…and a few demigods who enjoy killing things. Upon learning that her favorite rockstar is an Olympian god, she is thrust into her new life as the Oracle of Delphi, the prophesier of the future, and the great Pythia that the gods have been anxiously awaiting to arrive for centuries. Setting out to fulfill the prophecy she has been given and to keep her family safe from a demigod Princess that wants her dead, Chloe learns of how great she is to become, all the while fighting mythical monsters, evading divine assassins and trying to outwit the ever-cunning Greek gods who harbor secrets of their own. In the hopes of discovering the Most Beautiful and the truth of her destiny, she strives to uncover the mysteries of the demigod Prince who has sworn to protect her with his life…and threatens to win her heart in the process.

I think that sums it up nicely.

Q: Is the second book already in the works?
A: Actually, all five books in the series are in the works. I found it easier to connect the plot lines if I started writing on all five at the same time. This has proved to be wise. I can literally see the series from beginning to end, and I feel this will allow me to make the last book as fantastic as the first because it won't be rushed. Many authors make the mistake of rushing their last book, therefore, leaving readers disappointed with the series overall. I want to avoid that because my readers deserve better than that. They deserve my best and nothing less.

Q: Does the second book have a release date yet?
A: Yes, but I don't want to say anything because it's not set in stone yet. I have other writing projects to complete as well and don't want to cement a release date just yet.

Q: What's the title of the second book?
A: Nice try.

Q: Where will the book be sold?
A: Since I'm self-ePublishing, it will be available in eBook form on Barnes and Noble, Amazon, Smashwords, and LuLu for $1.99 on all sites. Paperback will also be available on LuLu, but they will be significantly more expensive, $12.00.

March 1ST!! Can't wait!!!
