Lore of Fei by Kathleen S. Allen
My rating: 2 of 5 stars
I can't honestly say I enjoyed this book.
For me, the plot dragged and worst of all, the characters were flat and boring. For a book about faeries, I expected to be dazzled. I love books about the Fae/Fei (The Fever Series is one of my fave series period). But this book just didn't do it for me.
I will admit, there were sparks of excitement but overall it was pretty lackluster. Ariela, the main character, is the only faerie with no wings, yet I didn't see her as special. I found her rebellious and brave, yes, but she didn't grab me as a strong female lead. Most of the characters failed to impress me as they were one-dimensional and not very interesting. Not even Kel the Warlord and antagonist of the story. Even if I don't like the lead character I expect to like the antagonist and I didn't in this case.
Even though I read the entire story, I'm sorry to say that I cannot recommend this book. It just didn't have that spark that I was looking for.
