Throughout history, Oracles have been used to communicate the will of the divine and to speak on events that have yet to happen. They also interpreted signs such as birds, stars, and dreams. Typically, the Oracle's interpretations were cryptic and metaphorical and required skilled priests to decipher them.
The most famous of Greek oracular sites is in Delphi, Greece where the Temple of Apollo was located. Apollo, the god of the sun and prophecy, would prophesy through the Oracle here, sometimes with spontaneous predictions of things to come, sometimes in relation to the inquiries made by the masses who gathered to hear the Oracle speak.
My novel, Prophecy of the Most Beautiful, is based around the Oracle of Delphi and since my book trailer has yet to be finished, I made a "Google Search Story" for it. Check it out!
