Show N' Read Saturday #3–SUPERNATURAL

A weekly meme hosted by Diantha Jones where we share and rate TV shows and movies we've seen, and the books that we have read or have now been inspired to read.

This week I watched:

Supernatural: TV Series (2005–) on the CW

Two brothers follow their father's footsteps as "hunters" fighting evil supernatural beings of many kinds including monsters, demons, and gods that roam the earth.

I just started watching the very first season of this show and I'm trying to understand how I let it slip under the radar all of these years! This show is FANTASTIC! (Kind of like Grimm, but better. Shhh!!)

I sat up and watched the first eight episodes in one sitting. Only like 160 more to go! Damn, each season is like 23 episodes! BANANAS! But I love it and I'm going to watch every single episode eventually.

My rating: 5/5 stars

Update 2/17/2013: I watched the first seven seasons in about six weeks. So, so serious.

Update 10/16/13: Season 8 was GREAT! Excited about Season 9!

Book I want to read:

City of Bones (Mortal Instruments, #1)

When fifteen-year-old Clary Fray heads out to the Pandemonium Club in New York City, she hardly expects to witness a murder -- much less a murder committed by three teenagers covered with strange tattoos and brandishing bizarre weapons. Then the body disappears into thin air. It's hard to call the police when the murderers are invisible to everyone else and when there is nothing -- not even a smear of blood -- to show that a boy has died. Or was he a boy?

This is Clary's first meeting with the Shadowhunters, warriors dedicated to ridding the earth of demons. It's also her first encounter with Jace, a Shadowhunter who looks a little like an angel and acts a lot like a jerk. Within twenty-four hours Clary is pulled into Jace's world with a vengeance, when her mother disappears and Clary herself is attacked by a demon. But why would demons be interested in ordinary mundanes like Clary and her mother? And how did Clary suddenly get the Sight? The Shadowhunters would like to know. . .

Not exactly sure if this book is indeed relevant, but the Supernatural brothers hunt demons and so do the Shadowhunters. Meh. Close enough. Besides, there's a freaking MOVIE coming next year! Gotta be ready for that!

Update 7/20/13: I read CoB. Gave it 3 stars 'cause it was just a'ight. See my review here!
